Q. What does PCI DSS stand for?
A. PCI DSS stands for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. It was developed by the major credit card companies as a guideline to help organizations that process, store or transmit card payments. The program helps prevent fraud, hacking, identity theft and various other security vulnerabilities and threats.

Q. Can I process credit cards from my computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone?
A. Absolutely! A computer or laptop that has an Internet connection is capable of authorizing, processing, and managing credit card transactions. Also, most mobile devices can be used as a terminal.

Q. I take my merchandise to trade shows. Do you have a mobile terminal?
A. Absolutely! Our wireless terminals allow mobile merchants the flexibility to accept debit transactions as well as all major credit cards.

Q. What is a Chargeback?
A. A transaction that is challenged by a cardholder or card issuing bank and is sent back through interchange to the merchant bank for resolution.

Q.  What is a Retrieval Request? 
A.  A retrieval request occurs when the card issuer asks the merchant for a copy of the actual ticket of a transaction. This is the initial step the issuer takes in the event that either the issuer or the cardholder disputes a transaction. A cardholder’s bank requests information about a charge that is being disputed.

Q.  What is EMV(aka: Pin & Chip)?
A. “Europay MasterCard Visa” – microchip-based technology designed to reduce fraud at the point-of-sale.

Q.  What is NFC?
A. Near Field Communication. Technology used for “Contactless” readers and chip cards, like Apple Pay and Google Wallet.
